We are looking for optics and photonics specialists
About the job
Entangly is growing and we need your drive to shape our future! We are an enthusiastic team of experts in optics and photonics who are now looking for our next colleague to join us in providing passionate and competent services to our clients. As a consultant you will bring both curiosity, initiative and confidence to our team in addition to a deep knowledge of optics and physics that altogether creates value for our customers. You are a good team player with a strong will to share with others what you know or create and have a desire to learn what you need in order to improve your skills. You have an eye for optical product development and a passion for cutting edge technology, and are prepared to take a leading technical role using modern agile project management tools.
Located in Stockholm, a typical working day with an in-house assignment includes meetings with clients, performing optical simulations and optical instrument design or working experimentally to set up a lab prototype and taking measurements. You may also scratch your head over some bug while coding an algorithm, scouting components, solving a problem and casually discussing with colleagues in the team over a cup of coffee or writing technical documentation under deep concentration. Occasionally, you are traveling to customers to take part in project work. Some assignments involves working as an external resource at our clients premises.
Your role as optics and photonics specialist will also include technical sales support. Entangly is a flat organisation and if you are willing to take on other duties of running a small enterprise there are good opportunities and encouragement to do so.
You will have an academic degree in optics or photonics engineering (Master’s or PhD) or equivalent work experience at senior level. To succeed in this role you have good experience with one or more of the following:
– laser systems for remote sensing such as LIDAR
– high-power (femtosecond) lasers for material processing
– optical spectrometers (e.g. Raman)
– imaging camera systems and lens design
– fiber optics
– VR/AR systems
– illumination systems
– optical metrology for industrial, automotive or medical applications
– Ansys Zemax OpticStudio or similar tools
– programming skills, e.g Python
